Drake Denies Rumors of Leaving Young Money at Concert
Everyone knows Drake is prone to strong emotional reactions, and his reaction to the rumors that he was leaving Young Money was no different. Though the rapper has proclaimed in many of his songs his loyalty to the label, and the entire Young Money camp, rumors have continued to swirl and many point to management changes as signs that the artist is secretly making moves to leave the label he has blown up on. Drakes rep attempted to calm the rumor mill by releasing this statement:
"WME now represents Drake in all areas worldwide," a rep said in a statement. "Contrary to previous reports, there has been no change with Drake's management team, and he continues to be managed by Gee Roberson, Al Branch, Kyambo Joshua and Bryant Cortez of Hip Hop Since 1978." (AHH)When that didn't keep the rumors silent, Drake himself addressed the situation to a group of fans at a concert, and had strong words for those who think he may be leaving Young Money:
"If you ever wake up in the morning and you think Young Money ain't my team, you out of your motherf--ing mind," he said. "I'mma tell you that right now!"(MTV)So, hopefully, coming from Drake himself, the rumors can finally be settled, and for now, we can assume Drake has no plans of leaving Young Money.
Mystikal signs to Cash Money
In an interview with XXL, Birdman talked about signing fast rapping artist Mystikal to Cash Money Records, and how he was happy signing a home town hero to the label. He also stated that he thinks he can help the rapper reach huge levels of fame given his original talent:
"Just to be able to work with Mystical, I'll tell him I appreciate the opportunity," Birdman says of the union. "All he's been through and him being from the town and what we been through together, it means a lot to me, what we're doing, building the brand and the team. I'm super excited, the team is super excited. 2012 we're gonna let it go, we have a lot of great music on him. I want him to be bigger than he's ever been. I have a lot of great music on him, we know it's a lot of work. He knows it's a lot f work. We're gonna go hard. It's perfect timing for him and for us to be able to work with him," continues Baby. "We're just excited. I didn't even look at the past. I didn't think about what we went through. That shit's so far behind us. We're trying to provide for the team and the family. I think he's a special talent like a Busta Rhymes or a Drake or a Wayne. He can't be duplicated. His style is original. We gonna put out some visuals on him, his album is coming in May and we gonna roll." (XXL)This interview comes just after the announcement of Mystikals signing which was just announced December 13, in which Mystikal said how the signing made him "feel like a rapper again":
"It has been a truly long time since I have felt like a rapper and with this signing, and partnership, Birdman and Slim have given me my life as a rapper back. I am ready to go. I am going to put my red Superman drawers, cape and boots on and go! This is a huge moment for me and I am truly excited to be with Cash Money Records."Cashmoney has stayed busy in recent days, with the announcement of bringing hip hop heavyweight Busta Rhymes to the label as well and stressed that he likes to give his artist their independence to do their own thing:
Whatever they bring to the table, whatever their vision is, [my role is] just to back it up and let them be the artist that they want to be and we support what they want to do," Birdman said in an interview. "We never was [the type] to try to tell no [artist] how to do music, that's not what we're about. We like to let an artist be an artist and we support what they want to do." (MTV)

Née le 2 octobre 1989, à Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), N’ko Michaël écrit son premier texte de rap a 8ans. Influencé par son ainé de 5ans, qui lui aussi fait du rap, il écrit des textes a longueur de journée. Bercé par Doc Gynéco et sa "première consultation" il prend le pseudonyme Doc Stéréo puis stéréo. Etant a l'école primaire il consacre ses après-midis de libre a sa jeune passion l'écriture et partage ses compositions avec ses amis les plus intimes, auprès desquels elles ont du succès. Les jours, les mois, les années passent et sa plume s'affute. Du jour au lendemain c la fin de Stéréo et Saphir nait. Ce nom Michael le choisit parce qu'il commence a estimer que ses écrits ont de la valeur et pour son amour pour le bleu(rappelons que le saphir est une pierre précieuse de couleur bleu).Avec l'avènement de Saphir son amour pour le rap mais aussi pour la musique en général devient de plus en plus grand et fort. En 2003, Saphir tombe amoureux pour la première fois et met sa plume au service de cet amour. Inspiré comme jamais au par avant il écrit tous les soirs un texte de rap qu'il fait lire le lendemain matin a l'élue de son cœur. Seulement en troisième mais l'école ne l'intéresse plus, seul la musique a pour lui de la valeur alors il s'y accroche encor plus.2004 est une grande année pour saphir un ans après l'obtention de son brevet il rencontre trois (3) personnes qui deviendront ses mentors et lui donneront des armes, des techniques et les connaissances qui lui permettrons d'évoluer a une vitesse fulgurante. Il s'attache plus à kétouré Babacare Alias Emmanuel le Croyant avec qui il passe les trois quart (3/4) de son temps. Ensemble ils apprennent la composition musicale assistée par ordinateur. C’est aussi à cette époque qu’Emmanuel rebaptise Saphir. Tchêlê Micke (petit Micke) voit le jour. A la base se pseudo signifiait "petit micro" "petit mc".En 2005 quelques jours après le décès de son grand père il rentre en studio pour la première fois et lui rend un hommage sur un des deux morceaux qu'il enregistre intitulé "j’entends des anges chanté". Ces morceau son les premier qu'il produira. A se sujet Tchêlê Micke dira:<..>.2007 est une des années les plus dure pour Tchêlê Micke après un échec au bac son mentor et ami Emmanuel le Croyant décède au Maroc des suite d'un cancer. C'est un coup de massue pour Tchêlê Micke qui abandonne pendant un certain temps la musique et même perd le gout de la vie. Mais son amour pour la musique est trop fort. Il se remet en selle et se met a travailler sur l'album de son groupe SoldierZ dont il produira 7 titre sur 10.Malheureusement pour certaines raisons financières et des malentendus l'album ne sera pas commercialisé. Alors Tchêlê Micke se met a travailler sur un projet solo, le premier de sa carrière. « L'esprit ouvert » qui est une vue de l'esprit qu'il partageait avec Emmanuel le Croyant, Holly Emmanuel. Projet dans lequel il aura par contre produit très peu de tracks dont celle qui donne son nom au projet. ..
